Easily digested tidbits on
healthy food for the family
Indulging now and then is excellent for two reasons:
I take myself to a coffee shop alone once a week for a cup of coffee and an apple crumble pie with cream, or something else that is fresh and seems yummy.
Every now and then the whole family walks the three blocks to where all the take away places are and buy whatever tickles our fancy.
An Ezine about Food that Feeds the Family
I have 12 rules of thumb or eating principles which guide my choices as I walk up and down the aisles in the supermarket, or plan my meals for the week. I do this kind of planning only now and then, because I have already integrated these principles sufficiently so that my think work is reduced to a minimum. I now go to my regular buying spots and know what I am buying for each week.
With each of the rules of thumb you can start where you are and begin moving in the right direction by making small adjustments to your choices each time and slowly make your way towards health and vitality. Of course, if you are an all-or-nothing type of person you can skip across the intermediate stages and go straight to dramatically improving your diet by choosing well and wisely.
If you think it is too hard to implement all of this at once, you are absolutely correct and I won’t expect anyone to attempt it. One needs at least 30 days to learn one new habit, let alone 12. I took two years to master it myself, but you can begin right now. I have a solution for you. If you subscribe to my newsletter, you will receive one principle every month. This will help you to start making small changes every month and help you to move closer and closer to what we perceive a healthy diet to be.
